One Third Party!

Boa tarde everyone!

This week was another one of those weeks that flew by. There is so much to do in so little time. On the bright side were starting to cut our inventory down so we can focus on certain people now which is good. On the down side, I still can’t get our members to work with us…
It was a good week though!!! One of our investigators named Brother N got baptized so that was cool Oddly enough we weren’t even planning on baptizing him last week. We went to go teach him the first lesson on Thursday and when we got there we realized he already had almost all the lessons because he was always there when we taught his girlfriend. He had been keeping all the commandments, and he had been going to church. After the first lesson he asked to be baptized that Saturday. We were just like… “Well… I don’t see why not…” That baptism literally fell into our hands. This is not to say its usually that easy. We have a few baptisms planned for this Saturday that will hopefully go through.

1/3 Party

On Friday I hit my 6 month mark on the mission. So hard to believe! My companion and I came in from the MTC together which means we both celebrated. I made a cake that said 1/3 on it and we attempted to each eat 1/3 of the cake. It didn’t happen but it was good.
This morning Sister Willey and I went to a salon and painted our toes. The lady doing them painted a Cabo Verde flag on my toes. sweeeeeet. Pedicures here are less than $2. Ill be doing that more often.
So anyway, Theres not too much to report this week. I love you all and pray for you!

There’s a Wocket In My Pocket

HEY!

Well another week flew by and I feel like I just wrote you all yesterday! weird. The work is still progressing and I’m still working really hard.
  • We had 10 investigators in church this week which was awesome.
  • We didn’t have a ton of lessons this week like last week because we had zone conference. But we found 10 new investigators and we now have… maybe over 35 investigators. I don’t know, we have a lot.
  • We had a baptism on saturday. His name is Braima and he’s from…. Guine Bissau… I don’t know how to spell that. But he was the one that almost got baptized until he told us he doesn’t believe in God or Christ. So I started from the beginning and taught him about the creation and super basic christian beliefs then worked my way up the normal lessons. It was a LOT of work. I found him like 3 months ago in my first transfer. So that was cool!

Cows

I’m still in a tripla and our new addition Sister Horlacher cracks me up. We were waiting for a member to meet us to teach and she started teaching some cows that were chilling next to us. Seeing that the cows weren’t receiving the commandments really well I helped her out and told the cows they shouldn’t be so lazy. As we were standing there preaching to these cows we look over and there was a man watching us from his window cracking up. hahaha oops.
que mais… (what else…)

Finally

oh man! it finally happened. I was invited over to our bishops house for lunch and was served…. a giant. heaping. plate. of fish and beans. and I ate that sucker like a champion. Then had seconds. It was rough but I survived.
well thats all I have for you all this week. Enjoy some pictures of the ocean!
